Working with the body means working with trust, sensitivity, and real consequences.
Ethics is not abstract.
It is how you perceive, decide, and act in every moment of your work.
This course provides a clear and practical ethical orientation for PME and somatic practice.
Do not harm
Do PME
Stay confidential with all information
Know what you know. Know what you do not know
Assess what you did
Keep learning
These principles form a direct, operational framework for practice.
PME is guided not only by rules, but by its methodological attitude, which is inherently ethical:
Resource-oriented
Client-centered
Process-focused
Oriented toward empowerment and development from within
And a central principle:
The body of the client always knows more about healing than the therapist or coach.
This shifts the role of the practitioner:
from directing → to listening
from fixing → to facilitating
from knowing → to supporting unfolding processes
Ethics in PME is therefore not only something you apply—
it is something that is embedded in how you work and how you relate.
What ethics means in somatic practice
How to apply PME ethics in concrete situations
How to recognize and prevent harm
How to stay within scope and work responsibly
Confidentiality in practice (including online settings)
How to reflect on and assess your own work
How implicit and explicit ethics guide your decisions
The training is aligned with established international standards:
ISMETA
(International Somatic Movent Education and Therapy Association)
USABP
(United States Association for Body-Psychotherapy)
EABP
(European Association for Body-Psychotherapy)
You will gain a clear orientation to these frameworks and how they relate to PME practice.
