Structure of the Class

Each session is divided into two complementary parts, enriched by group sharing and reflection:

Part One: Somatic Movement
In this segment, we engage in guided somatic movement explorations, drawing on the core principles of PME (Physio-Mentale Entwicklung). The practice emphasizes inward sensing and the quality of sensation, which activates the body’s internal feedback for self-regulation. This process naturally leads to the release of habitual tension and the re-patterning of movement — rather than pushing or forcing. The movement is subtle, explorative, and responsive to what your body-mind is offering in the moment. It aims to deepen interoceptive awareness, calm overactive stress patterns, and cultivate freedom and presence in movement.

Part Two: PME Research & Development
In the second half, we open into developmental explorations and experiments drawn from three PME disciplines. Each week we alternate among:

  • Anatomical Embodiment — applying anatomy and physiology as lived sensation. Through “The Somatic Dialog,” movement is guided toward helpful and healing development of body and mind, supporting a more embodied body-schema, fluid integration, and enhanced self-regulation.

  • Healing Dance — engaging with PME’s unique approach to expressive, somatic dance as a medium for release, integration, inner research, and holistic transformation.

  • Somatic Coaching — when facing challenges that seem unsolvable, we can simply ask the body. By attending to areas that call for awareness and resonate with our felt concerns, we use specific sensing and movement tools of the Somatic Dialog to discover answers from within — solutions that both make sense and feel right.

Group Sharing & Integration
After both parts, we gather for group sharing of individual experiences. This exchange supports cognitive integration of what was sensed and moved, and fosters collaborative learning through the collective wisdom of the group.

This structure keeps the practice both deeply personal and collectively enriching, while also staying dynamic and open to innovation. Participants not only embody PME but also witness and contribute to its ongoing development.

Who Is This For?

This class is open to anyone who wishes to practice PME, including:

  • Those new to PME (beginners)

  • Current students in the Basic Somatic Training

  • Advanced practitioners

  • Alumni of PME or related modalities

No prior experience or mastery is required — openness, curiosity, and willingness to feel and explore are the key prerequisites.

Benefits & What You’ll Gain

By practicing regularly, participants can expect:

  • Freedom in Motion — greater ease, fluidity, and natural expression in movement

  • Release & Renewal — dissolving habitual tensions and skeletal holding patterns

  • Awakened Awareness — deepened interoceptive sensitivity and somatic perception

  • Calm & Resilience — improved ability to self-regulate and modulate stress responses

  • Whole-Body Integration — a more coherent and embodied body-mind connection

  • Emotional Transformation — release of old emotions and pathways to new resilience

  • Clarity & Inspiration — fresh ideas, new perspectives, and a realignment of thinking

  • Living Research — direct insight into the developmental process of PME

  • Witnessing Innovation — experiencing new directions of the method created by founder Dieter Rehberg

In short: you deepen your capacity to move, sense, feel, reflect, and evolve in your body.
